PMA Long Course 157 - Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

• Male citizens of Pakistan
• Candidates from AJK / Gilgit-Baltistan are eligible
• Dual nationality holders must surrender their foreign nationality upon final selection

Gender & Marital Status

• Gender: Male only
• Marital Status: Unmarried (Married serving personnel of Armed Forces over 20 years of age are eligible)

Age Limits

• Intermediate (FA / FSc): 17–22 years
• Graduates (2-year program): 17–23 years
• Graduates (4-year program): 17–24 years
• Serving Army Soldiers: 17–25 years

Physical Standards

• Minimum Height: 5’4” (162.5 cm)
• Weight: As per Body Mass Index (BMI)

Education

• Minimum 60% marks in FA / FSc or equivalent
• Relaxation: 55% marks for candidates from Balochistan & FATA
• O/A Levels candidates must provide an equivalence certificate from IBCC

Selection Process – PMA Long Course 157

The selection process involves multiple stages to ensure only the most capable candidates join the Pakistan Army:

1. Online Registration: Apply online at www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk or visit the nearest Army Selection & Recruitment Center (AS&RC).
2. Initial Tests: Written, intelligence, and personality assessments (verbal & non-verbal reasoning).
3. Medical Examination: Conducted at AS&RCs.
4. Physical Tests:
   • 1.6 km run in 8 minutes
   • 15 pushups in 2 minutes
   • 15 sit-ups in 2 minutes
   • 3 chin-ups in 2 minutes
   • Ditch crossing (7’4” × 7’4”, depth 4’)
5. Interviews: Conducted at AS&RCs.
6. ISSB Tests & Interviews: Final selection stage with psychological and leadership evaluations.
7. Final Medical Examination: At Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
8. Training: Selected candidates undergo 2 years of training at PMA Kakul before commissioning as officers.
